Cold Email Frameworks Cheatsheet

The classic persuasion frameworks for cold outreach, each with a structure and an AI prompt snippet. Use them to draft emails that get replies, not deletes.

Core Frameworks

AIDAAttention -> Interest -> Desire -> Action. Hook, build value, then ask.
PASProblem -> Agitate -> Solution. Name the pain, twist it, then relieve it.
BABBefore -> After -> Bridge. Current state, dream state, your offer as the bridge.
PPPPraise -> Picture -> Push. Compliment, paint outcome, prompt next step.
QVCQuestion -> Value -> Call-to-action. Open with a relevant question.
4 PsPromise -> Picture -> Proof -> Push. Adds social proof to BAB-style flow.

Subject Lines

CuriosityTease without revealing: "a quick idea for [company]"
PersonalizedReference something specific: "loved your post on [topic]"
Benefit-ledLead with the outcome: "cut [metric] by 30%?"
Question"are you the right person for [topic]?"
Keep it shortAim for 3-5 words; long subjects get truncated on mobile.

Structure Best Practices

Personalized openerFirst line must be about them, never "I hope this finds you well."
One clear CTAAsk for one thing: a reply, a call, or a yes/no question.
Keep it shortUnder 120 words; cold email is a conversation starter, not a pitch deck.
Social proofOne specific result or recognizable client name builds trust fast.
Soft close"Worth a quick chat?" beats "Book a 30-minute demo now."

AI Prompt Snippets

Draft (PAS)"Write a 90-word cold email using PAS for [persona] selling [offer]."
Personalize"Given this prospect's LinkedIn bio, write a 1-line personalized opener."
Subject lines"Give me 7 cold-email subject lines for [offer], under 5 words each."
Follow-up"Write a short, friendly follow-up to a non-reply that adds new value."
Shorten"Cut this email to under 75 words without losing the core ask."
